Acceptable Use Policy
The implementation of the computer network at Baltimore City College
provides an unlimited supply of resources and information to the community,
but the system also places an enormous responsibility on all users.
This document is intended to clarify those rules as they apply to our
network and computer facilities.
All members of the Baltimore City College
community who use the computing and information resources must act
responsibly. Every user is responsible for the integrity of these
resources. All users of the school's computing systems must respect
the rights of other computer users, respect the integrity of the physical
facilities and controls, and respect all pertinent license and contractual
agreements. It is the policy of Baltimore City College that all members
of its community act in accordance with these responsibilities, relevant
laws and contractual obligations, and the highest standard of ethics.
Users, supervising staff, and system administrators must all guard
against abuses that disrupt or threaten the viability of all systems.
Access to Baltimore City College computing facilities is a privilege

to its information resources.

Internet Use Guidelines
The Internet is a vast global network linking computers at universities,
high schools, science labs and other sites. Through the Internet, one
can communicate with people all over the world through a number of discussion
forums, thus making it possible to speak to prominent scientists, world
leaders and close friends. With such a great potential for education,
also comes the potential for abuse. While questionable material does
exist on the Internet, a user may not access materials that are inappropriate
while using the Baltimore City College system. Failure to abide by this
policy, as determined by any staff member, will result in suspension
of the privilege of using the system.
Violation of any part of this Acceptable Use Policy will result in
graduated consequences leading to denial of computer or Internet access.
